After weeks of collaborative working across our nine General Further Education Colleges, GMColleges hosted the final programme conference for the FE Associates ‘Leading for the Future’ programme at the Etihad Stadium.
The event focused on a range of topics and challenges, with leaders looking at their responses to the impact of AI, workforce challenges, curriculum innovation and meeting employers and student needs.
Leaders and delegates from across GMColleges were able to collaborate and create solutions focused on the upcoming challenges and opportunities within the Further Education sector, all set within the context of the LSIP and helping the region deliver an integrated technical skills system.
Guest speakers from Greater Manchester’s Combined Authority, GMLSIP Director & Policy Director Chris Fletcher and Executive Director, Policy & Strategy Gemma Marsh provided an insightful Greater Manchester strategic overview, while Deborah Miller delivered an excellent session on the impact of AI.
Our delegates showcased four collaborative projects tackling complex challenges to drive forward progress and change around workforce, curriculum development, artificial intelligence and soft skills development.
