Festival of Technical Education

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has launched ambitious plans to make Greater Manchester the first integrated technical education, skills and work city-region.

In support of this ambition, GMColleges is hosting its first Festival of Technical Education to showcase the technical education routes and pathways available for students in the city region. Working with schools across Greater Manchester, colleges are opening their doors to showcase the fantastic facilities, great courses and amazing career opportunities they have to offer.

With a range of taster days in partnership with local schools, open evenings and award ceremonies to unique student challenges, the GMColleges Festival of Technical Education offers a window into the exciting courses available for students including apprenticeships, T Levels and Higher Technical Qualifications

Students will benefit from an opportunity to hear from leading experts across a range of technical courses and get to ‘have a go’ at new activities that will highlight the career opportunities technical education has to offer.

Alumni Awards

During the Festival, we also announce our inaugural Alumni Award winners, recognising and celebrating the achievements of GMColleges alumni who have continued to excel in their careers after completing their technical further education at a Greater Manchester College.

By acknowledging their successes, we hope the awards can inspire current and future students to strive for excellence and showcase what can be achieved through technical education.
