We are delighted to announce the appointment of Julia Heap OBE as the new Chair of GMColleges.
Julia takes on the role with extensive leadership experience across further education and local government. She has served as Principal and CEO of Hopwood Hall College since 2019, leading the college through a period of significant development and success. Prior to joining Hopwood Hall College, Julia held senior leadership roles at Oldham Borough Council and Stockport Council, bringing a wealth of experience in education, skills and public service.
Julia succeeds the previous Chair following the natural conclusion of their tenure and will build on the strong foundations and collaborative achievements of GMColleges to date.
As Chair, Julia will continue to champion the collective voice of Greater Manchester’s further education colleges, working with partners across education, business and local government to ensure colleges play a central role in delivering the skills, training and opportunities needed to support the region’s economic growth and prosperity.
